Whether they have a Christian background or not, each year men and women find themselves drawn to explore the Catholic faith. If you feel drawn to Catholic Christianity the first thing to do is to come to church and introduce yourself to Fr Tony (you can find our Mass times at the bottom of the Home page). Coming to Mass on Sunday is the most important preparation for coming into the Catholic Church- it is here that you meet the Lord in Word and Sacrament and you meet community, the people of the parish.
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (the RCIA) is the course we run to help enquirers explore various aspects of the Catholic Faith from prayer and worship to what the Church believes about Jesus, the Eucharist and Mary. The course will run from September and concludes at Easter 2027 with baptisms, receptions and confirmations on Holy Saturday. We normally meet on Wednesday evenings after the 7pm Mass.
There will be an initial meeting in St Augustine's Presbytery on Wednesday 2nd September 2026 following 7pm Mass.
The initial part of the course is to attend Alpha (see Alpha page on website for more information) beginning Wednesday 16th September, 7.00pm - 9.00pm. After Christmas we continue with sessions more specifically aimed at understanding Catholic teaching.
These sessions are again on Wednesday's 7.30pm - 9.00pm.
